How to personalize your messages

Personalizing your outreach is critical for increasing engagement, building meaningful connections, and improving conversion rates. The message personalization features empower you to create tailored communications that resonate with each recipient, transforming generic outreach into compelling conversations that drive results.

Step 1: Choose Contacts and Create a Campaign

  1. Select your contacts from one of these sources:
  2. Follow the instructions to create your campaign.
  3. Once the campaign settings are configured, navigate to the campaign creation tab.

Step 2: Write Your Campaign

Each campaign can have multiple messages and variations of the same message. You can create a timeline for when each subsequent message will be sent.

  1. Create your first message.
  2. Apply formatting options to enhance readability:
    • Bold text for emphasis
    • Italic text for subtle highlights
    • Blurred text for sensitive information
    • Hyperlinks to relevant resources
    • Emojis to add personality
  3. Upload files up to 20 Megabytes to share resources.
  4. Personalize your messages using default placeholders:
    • Place {{FIRST_NAME}} , {{SOCIAL}} , {{COMPANY}} or {{TOKEN}} where you want to automatically insert the recipient's first name, social handle, company name, or company token.
    • When sending messages to groups, use {{GROUP_MEMBERS}} to mention handles of members outside of your company.

  1. Once your campaign is ready, click on Continue and confirm!

Advanced Sentence Personalization

For even more personalized outreach, create custom sentences for specific companies:

  1. Create a Personalization Column:
    • In the CRM, navigate to the company level and create a new text column called Personalization.
    • Choose the companies you want to personalize outreach for.
    • Navigate to the personalization column and write down the unique sentences for each company.
  2. Launch Your Campaign:
    • In your campaign message body, insert {{Personalization}} where appropriate.
    • Ensure the personalized content flows naturally within your message text.Review and Send
  3. Preview your messages to see how personalization will appear for different recipients.
  4. Check that all formatting and placeholders display correctly.
  5. Confirm your personalization strategy and launch your campaign.

Additional Tips

  • Test your personalized messages with a small group before sending to your entire contact list.
  • Monitor engagement rates to see which personalization tactics are most effective.
  • Combine different personalization methods for maximum impact.
