How to Connect Your New SIM to the Telegram Mobile and Web Apps
How to Add Another Account on Telegram
If you're managing outreach, customer conversations, or multiple communities, having more than one Telegram account is a smart move. Here’s a simple guide on how to add another Telegram account and manage them efficiently — covering both mobile and desktop setups.
How to Add Another Telegram Account (Mobile App)
Step 1: Get a New Phone Number
Telegram requires each account to be tied to a unique phone number. To create another account, you’ll need:
- A second SIM card
- A dedicated outreach number (from our team, please connect with your dedicated CSM)
Tip: Avoid using virtual SIM cards. They might get flagged or make account recovery harder.
Step 2: Open the Telegram App
This works on both mobile and desktop, but the setup is quicker on mobile:
- iOS: Open the app and go to Settings.
- Android: Open the app and tap the three-bar menu on the top left.
Step 3: Tap "Add Account"
- Scroll down to the bottom of your settings or main menu.
- Tap “Add Account.”
- Enter your new phone number.
- If it's your own number, Telegram will send a verification code via SMS or call.
- If you're using a dedicated outreach SIM provided by nReach, go to the Integrations section of your nReach platform, find the Telegram account you're adding, and click “Get Verification Code.
Enter in your verification code
- After entering the code, you may be prompted for a Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) code. If you don’t have it, just reach out to nReach Support and we’ll help you get access.
Once done, Telegram will log you into your second account alongside your main one.
Step 4: Switch Between Accounts
Telegram makes it easy to switch between up to three accounts in one app session.
- Tap your profile picture or settings.
- Choose the account you want to use.
- Each account is fully separate—chats, groups, contacts, and settings do not carry over between them.
How to Add Another Telegram Account (Desktop App)
Adding a secondary Telegram account on your desktop app is quick and straightforward:
Step 1: Open the Telegram Desktop App
Step 2: Open the Menu
- Click the three-line menu icon (☰) in the top-left corner.
- On macOS, you may need to go to the Telegram menu in the top system bar.
Step 3: Select “Add Account”
- Scroll down the sidebar or look under your profile settings.
- Click on “Add Account.”
Step 4: Enter a Phone Number and Verification Code
- Enter the phone number you want to use for this Telegram account.
- If it's your own number, Telegram will send a verification code via SMS. If the code doesn’t arrive, you may also receive a verification call.
- If the Sim has been provided to you by nReach, you will be able to retrieve the verification code by navigating to the Integrations section of your nReach platform, find the Telegram account you're adding, and click “Get Verification Code.”
- After you have entered the Verification code you will be prompted to enter a 2FA code. Please reach out to nReach if you do not have this code.
- If the button isn’t visible, no worries — just contact nReach Support, and we’ll share the code with you directly.
- Once you’ve entered the code, you’ll be logged into the new account and ready to go.
- If you're using a dedicated outreach number that nReach provided, if you don't remember the number you can reach out to nReach support or you will be able to find the number from our Integrations page
Step 5: Switch Between Accounts
- Once added, click your profile picture in the upper-left corner.
- Choose the account you want to switch to.
- Desktop Telegram now allows up to six accounts in one session, each running separately.
Best Practices for Outreach with Multiple Telegram Accounts
If you're using multiple Telegram accounts for outreach, here are some key tips to avoid getting flagged, restricted, or blocked:
1. Personalize Each Account
- Add a real name, clear profile picture, bio, and even stories.
- Make the account look authentic and active—like a real human, not a bot.
2. Avoid Copy-Pasting Messages
- Never send the exact same message to everyone.
- Use message variations and rotate them.
- Rephrase your campaigns regularly.
3. Use Placeholders for Personalization
- Use tools like Enrich to insert tokens like
{first_name}
or{company}
. - Make each outreach message feel personal and intentional.
4. Control Message Volume
- Don’t send too many messages back-to-back, especially manually.
- If needed, distribute your outreach across multiple accounts.
- Add more SIM cards if your volume increases.
5. Keep it Human
- Engage in real conversations.
- Don’t just broadcast—reply, listen, and adapt.
- Avoid overly promotional or aggressive language.
